Research Associate (Post-doctoral)
"Migration, Urbanization & Climate Change Across Scales"

The University of Colorado Population Center (CUPC) & National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) Integrated Science Program (ISP) announce recruitment for a Research Associate (Post-doctoral) position in cross-scalar research on migration, urbanization & climate change.

The full-time Research Associate will work with both CUPC & NCAR researchers on projects bridging institutions. Relevant CUPC & NCAR research includes:
-household-level modeling of migration processes as related to environmental change;
-vulnerability & resilience of urban regions in the face of environmental change;
-the role of migration & urbanization processes in shaping emission trends;
-integrated assessment modeling of emissions & climate change, linking socio-economic & natural science.

Central & Latin America represent key geographic areas of interest given ongoing research in both CUPC & NCAR, although other areas of focus will be considered.

International Human Dimensions Programme on Global Environmental Change (IHDP) -  Scientists across all disciplines share great concern that our planet is in the process of crossing dangerous biophysical tipping points. The results of a new large-scale global survey among 1,276 scholars from the social sciences and humanities demonstrate that the human dimensions of the problem are equally important but severely under-addressed (see more).
